Notion AI Review 2026

AI integrated into Notion workspaces. Q&A across all your documents, AI writing/editing, database autofill, and meeting notes. Now included in Business plan ($20/user/mo).

★★★★4/5

What Makes Notion AI Unique

The only AI that searches across your entire workspace — every page, database, and document. AI Connectors extend to Slack, GitHub, and Google Drive. Context no standalone chatbot can match.

What is Notion AI?

Notion AI answers the question that standalone chatbots cannot: "where did we say that?" Ask it something and it searches every page, database, and document in your workspace, then answers with context. For teams that run their company knowledge inside Notion, that is a genuinely different capability from ChatGPT, which can only see what you paste into it.

The pricing moved and we updated the card to match. AI is now included in the Business plan at $20 per user per month, replacing the old $10 add-on (which grandfathered subscribers keep). Free and Plus users get 20 AI uses for life, which is a demo, not a working allowance. If you are on a team workspace this is worth checking; if you are solo, the numbers rarely add up.

Two more things before you decide. You get to pick the model per task, GPT, Claude, or Gemini, which is unusual. And AI Connectors can search Slack and Google Drive, not just Notion pages. But the tool only earns its keep if your work already lives in Notion. Pricing checked August 5, 2026.

Key Features

  • Workspace Q&A: ask questions across all your Notion pages, databases, and comments
  • AI writing/editing: inline rewrite, translate, summarize, change tone
  • Database AI: auto-fill, classify, summarize with custom prompts
  • AI Connectors (2026): search Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, Jira, Linear from Notion
  • Meeting notes: auto-record, transcribe, summarize, extract action items
  • Multi-model choice: GPT-5.2, Claude Opus 4.5, Gemini 3, Claude Sonnet 4
  • Custom Agents: autonomous multi-step tasks (from $10/1,000 credits)

Pros & Cons

✓ Pros

  • +Unique workspace Q&A across your entire knowledge base — no other tool offers this
  • +Deep integration where your work already lives (notes, tasks, wikis, projects)
  • +Multi-model choice: switch between GPT, Claude, and Gemini per task
  • +AI Connectors search external tools (Slack, GitHub, Drive) — reduces 'where's that doc' by 40%
  • +Meeting notes → action items with ~85-90% accuracy

✗ Cons

  • AI locked behind Business plan ($20/user/mo) — Free and Plus only get 20 lifetime AI uses
  • No standalone AI product — must use Notion as your workspace
  • Long-form writing quality not as strong as dedicated tools (ChatGPT, Claude)
  • Chinese language support weaker than English
  • Database performance degrades above 5,000-10,000 rows

Who Is It Best For?

Notion AI is essential for teams already using Notion as their primary workspace. Best for: project managers, content teams, startups using Notion as their company wiki. Not ideal for: those not using Notion, or who need standalone AI writing tools.
